Biofouling inspection

Infrastructure, facility hull, propeller and niche-area surveys by ROV, divers and IMS biologists. Fouling is rated and evidence shared while the survey is happening, not written up from memory a week later.

ROV or divers

Whichever suits the asset. Both work to the same rating scale and the same recording rules.

Rated on the spot

Fouling rated in the field against the agreed scale, while the evidence is shared on screen.

IMS biologists

A DPIRD-registered inspector to call the species when the survey finds something.

One record, real time

Every frame tagged to its asset and zone, so the inspection data is correctly categorised and immediately available.

Overview

What an inspection has to deliver

A survey is worth paying for if someone can make a decision off the back of it. Ours rate the condition in the field, stream footage to whoever needs to watch, and hold the evidence in one record. A clean, a treatment or a clearance can then be approved without sending anyone back for a second look.

What we survey

Vessels, moorings and offshore infrastructure

The same workflow covers ship hulls and the assets around them: offshore assets, mooring chains, anchors, wharf structures and critical infrastructure. ROVs go where we would rather not send a diver, and divers handle the places that need physical hands on the asset.

Every frame is tagged to the asset and zone it belongs to. That is the difference between a record you can audit and a folder full of images and video files nobody can navigate.

How a survey runs

Four steps, one record

01 · MOBILISE

ROV or dive team deploys from wharf or vessel with the survey plan loaded.

02 · SURVEY

Systematic coverage of hull, niches or infrastructure with positioning logged.

03 · RATE

Fouling rated in the field, on the spot, against the agreed scale. You see what we see.

04 · REPORT

Evidence, ratings and sign-offs land in the platform. Reports generate automatically to agreed specification.

The evidence layer

Stakeholders watch the same survey

Owners, regulators and class surveyors can join the live feed instead of waiting for an edited report that might not be complete. Questions get answered while the ROV is still on the subject, and the record everyone watched is the record that gets signed.

Is the hull completely clean, have areas been missed, are you getting what you’ve paid for, we answer these questions and more with you in real-time.

In the field

Equipment matched to the job by those that do the work

Divers take the niches that need hands on them. Both feed the same record.

To buy the equipment, see ROV and equipment sales. To get your own teams surveying to this standard, see training.

IMS biologists

When the survey finds something unexpected

A call on a suspect organism can hold a vessel up or release it. Our surveys are backed by marine scientists, including an inspector listed on the DPIRD biofouling register, who identify the species and assess the biosecurity risk to the standard the regulators expect.

We also do the cleaning and remediation, so the finding and the fix stay on one record rather than being split between two contractors. This speeds up the process and reduces the cost.

Book a survey, or build the capability

Tell us the vessel or asset and the standard you have to meet. We will scope the survey, or set your team up to run it themselves.
